Program Description:
This 320-hour program will encompass at least forty hours of education with a certified CompTIA instructor, and 200 hours of hands-on work experience at a functioning help desk under the direct supervision of a Help Desk Supervisor. Education and training will work cohesively, with participants coming to Crescent Career Center five days a week for four hours daily.
At the end of the program, participants will have the opportunity to take at least one certification exam on site at Crescent Career Center. Prior to being placed, participants will meet with the Program Director and Help Desk Supervisor at Crescent Career Center to determine placement, hours, and available certification pathways. They will also discuss the four different certification pathways in CompTIA IT Fundamentals, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security + and determine which aligns best with previous education and experience, as well as future goals and aspirations of the participant.
Participants will spend four days of the week learning about how to work successfully in a business environment and on a live, functioning help desk.
The help desk is available to all residents of Minnesota who are looking for tier one technical assistance.
